Following a successful AC meet in Aladaglar in 2023, the Club is planning to return to this spectacular mountain region in central Turkey in 2024.
The Aladaglar 2024 meet offers both rock climbing in a unique mountain setting and alpine style mountaineering up to 3800m. There are many bolted single pitch routes as well as alpine style multi-pitch rock climbing requiring trad gear. Descriptions for these routes are available in English language guidebooks. In addition, those who are interested in alpine style climbing can warm up on the sport and trad climbing lower down before undertaking some of the ridge traverses and snow couloirs for which the area is known.
Meet organiser Efe Tunç has produced a useful overview of the area's alpine climbing.
Dates: 4-19 May 2024 - When the days are not yet hot, while valleys are blooming with spring flowers and there is still snow on alpine peaks and in the couloirs.
