A genuinely moving tale of super human perseverance and friendship
MERU:
The ‘Shark’s Fin’, the direct line on the Central Buttress (6310m) of Meru Peak in the Garhwal Himalaya, is a technically complicated route in the Himalayas – and one that had never been scaled to completion. The route has seen more failed attempts by elite climbing teams over the past 30 years than any other ascent in the area, which made it one of the world’s greatest extreme challenges.
After suffering a series of dramatic setbacks in their lives, three close friends and professional climbers confront their complicated pasts, inner demons and nature’s harshest elements in an attempt to climb the Shark’s Fin.
Meru invites audiences to join these intrepid climbers on their journey, offering us a unique understanding of what keeps mankind striving to achieve the impossible, against all odds. This is a unique story of friendship, sacrifice, hope and obsession.
