The Alpine Club, the world’s first mountaineering club, was founded in 1857.  For over 150 years, members have been at the leading edge of worldwide mountaineering development and exploration.

We are saddened by news of the death of Yvonne Holland yesterday morning, 8th January.  

The funeral will be held on the 30th January at 2:30pm, Stockport Crematorium. Mountain friends are welcome.

Very sad news indeed. I climbed with Yvonne in Bolivia in 2009 on my first Alpine Club expedition organized by Dave Wynne-Jones. She was a determined climber, a loyal friend and kind person. I regret we had lost touch over the last few years.

So saddened and shocked by the news. I have climbed with Yvonne a number of times over the years. She will be sorely missed
